As a weight loss coach who has enjoyed both of the author's books, I got a couple of these to give away in a drawing I do for my weight loss class participants. Of all the things I have given out (workout DVDs, cookbooks, healthy snacks, etc.) during the many drawings I have done, this got some of the best praise.
Let's face it, many of us have little time to read and sometimes we get so distracted while reading that not everything "sticks". It's been shown that those who attend counseling or group support for weight loss typically lose much more than those who don't. We grew up with verbal learning in school so it often stays with us longer than what we read...if it's well presented and solid info.
This is a combination of the author's past books, good habits, food for thought, culinary background, life skills. And I have to say, I agree that there are endless "AHA!" moments to motivate in each cd. And it's presented in a verbal learning format so the motivation may sink in deeper.
I personally didn't allow myself to listen unless I was on the elliptical getting healthy. It made me not think about the work out, but felt like a chat with a smart skinny friend (grin) based on the way it's presented by the author. This had the side effect of making me want to work out to finish hearing the advice.
Those who "won" my giveaway in the drawing both said they listened to it in the car...that is one way to spend some time doing something positive while stuck in crazy Austin traffic.
Negatives: Although I would change nothing about the advice or how it's presented...it's great and motivational...I wish there was a chapter list so you know what's next or how to get back to something. That may be nitpicky, but I hope she might add it on a website or include it in future cds. Although my books on cd don't always have this so I "get" the omission, this is a cd I want to refer back to rather than just enjoy once for my own motivation during times that it wanes so it would help recall. Her tips have weight and I use them personally and present them professionally so maybe that's just something I personally want.
Conclusion: I am pretty well-versed in weight loss and motivation AND healthy cooking but she is far better and can really light a fire under you to "make it happen" in a very casual, livable, and unintimidating way...worked for me.

This product was great for anyone who is wondering the secrets of the naturally thin. If everyone followed these ideas..we would all be thin. She has some great, positive and encouraging principles that everyone can strive for. Buyer beware: the book and the cd set are the same, even though they have different names. One is skinnygirl rules and the other is naturally thin. One is an audiobook. Audiobook (cd) is great for riding in the car or listening while cleaning, cooking, eating, etc. Has helped me to lose 5 pounds!

I love this authors advice about having a little bit of of what ever you want. Small portions is the key to weight control.
Our supersize mentality has got go. I think the bottom line here is to eat healthier foods so you feel better, enjoy life more,
because you feel better and live an active lifestyle that promotes weight maintenance once you have reached where you
want to be.

I read this book while visiting my sister. She loved it so thought I would read it. It had lots of great tips, not your usual diet book!
I will buy it soon myself just to keep me motivated.
